"Janaan" Will It Make A Mark With All The Sweetness?

It seems film would base on the emotional journey of a girl who would come to Pakistan in order to attend a wedding ceremony. She would become a part of a love triangle; in result every member of family would suffer in a way. It seems an unpretentious and easy to predict story sprinkled with little emotional fluctuation.

Finally after a long depression, growth has been witnessed in Pakistan film industry. Even in 2016, seven films have been released and still ten films are in pipeline that will be released in the same year. Eventually things are getting better and hopefully with every passing year film industry of Pakistan would flourish and be well established.
Janaan is an upcoming Pakistani film. Genre wise it is a romantic comedy directed by Azfar Jafri, written by Osman Khalid Butt and co-produced by Hareem Farooq, Reham Khan, Munir Hussain and Imran Raza Kazmi under production banners of IRK Films and Munir Hussain Films - UK. This is the same Osman Khalid Butt who did the main role “Walli” in Dayar e Dill (Hum TV).  Armeena Khan, Bilal Ashraf and Ali Rehman Khan are casted in the leading roles.

This film will be released in Pakistan by ARY Films on September 13, 2016 (Eid al-Adha). B4U Films will distribute the film internationally.

Recently the tilte song of the movie “Janaan” has been released. Bollywood play back singer Armaan Malik, who is nephew of singer and music director Annu Malik, has sung this song.

Let’s see what I think about the song and the movie.

As far the film is concerned, it seems perfect for family audience, full of sweetness and beauty. Everything is sugar coated, peaceful and just perfect. Story seems old though, one girl, two boys, simply a love triangle but it doesn’t mean that film will have nothing to watch. We can’t underestimate the importance of being simple as simplicity is ultimate form of sophistication. Janaan also seems simple and beautiful just like a fairy tale. The leading lady Armeena Khan is looking gorgeous where as both the handsome male leads Bilal Ashraf and Ali Rehman are holding prodigious screen presence.

I loved the way Armeena Khan is carrying traditional Baloch dress (Frock) and undoubtedly, she is looking as pretty as spring time. Finally it is being conveyed by our movies that we are no way ashamed of our culture, which is the severe need of hour. Moreover, cinematography is impressive with salient shots are taking on eye-catching locations.

It seems film would base on the emotional journey of a girl who would come to Pakistan in order to attend a wedding ceremony. She would become a part of a love triangle; in result every member of family would suffer in a way. It seems an unpretentious and easy to predict story sprinkled with little emotional fluctuation.

Only title song is released yet that is euphonious, Armaan has sung it beautifully. Nicely written meaningful lyrics are a plus. Here is the title track.

In short “Janaan” looks like a sweet and yummy cupcake, perfect for family audiences. Hence, excess of everything is bad. Sweetness, beauty and simplicity are fine but it is important to maintain a balance. Over dose is no acceptable in any case. Meanwhile, if you are a pure movie obsessed and looking for some power pack performances, potent notable dialogues and some really troublesome situations, in short pure movie masala, sorry dude “Janaan” is not of your type.

In my opinion “Jannan” would be appreciated by the family audiences but it would unable to impress the mass audiences. Simplicity is good but trailer has nothing that we have not already seen before. Bilal Ashraf has looks but in terms of acting he is nothing more than a beginner. More chances are there that film would be an extended drama with quite predictable story line. In my opinion “Jannan” would do a decent business but would not be able to leave a mark on box office.
